When uke is adopting an extreme kenka-yotsu or ai-yotsu stance, it's not a good position to attacking them with ouchi-gari.
One solution is for tori to reposition himself. Another option is to whirl uke around so that uke is repositioned.
The whirling ouchi is not that commonly seen in competition but it is a well-established technique.
