When I was first taught this, it was known as the "Billy Roll". I'm not sure why it's called that but it's a pretty effective roll to get uke onto his side/back. From there you can manoeuvre into position and hold uke down. But even if uke manages to get back onto his front and avoid a pin, his arms and neck would be more exposed than before. So, you'll have a chance to armlock or strangle him.
